A New Chapter of Becoming
In June of 2026, I welcomed my daughter, August, into the world.
Since then, life has felt softer. Fuller. A little slower, but somehow more alive.
Becoming her mom has been the greatest transformation of my life. It’s a kind of love I knew existed, but could never have understood until I felt it for myself.
And while I expected motherhood to change my life, I didn’t expect how deeply it would change the way I see myself.
Before August was born, I often wondered who I would become once I became her mom.
I wanted motherhood more than anything. And honestly, there was even a small part of me that felt excited by the possibility of letting my old sense of self fall away, if that was what this season asked of me. I knew motherhood could change everything, and I wanted to meet that change with an open heart. I didn't want to hold too tightly to who I had been before. I wanted to let this new chapter shape me, without deciding in advance exactly who I needed to be.
Still, I wondered about the parts of my life that had always made me feel most like myself. My creativity. My curiosity. My work. My dreams.
Would I still feel pulled toward the things that had always lit me up? Would they still matter to me once my world revolved around someone else?
I wasn't afraid of whatever the answer might be. I was simply curious.
So I tried not to make any promises to myself about who I would be on the other side of becoming a mother.
I expected my relationship with work to change.
What I didn't expect was to feel even more drawn to it.
Since having August, I've felt this really strong desire to create. To write. To learn. To work on things that challenge me and make me curious. I find myself wanting to pour into work that expands my knowledge, keeps me growing, and gives me room to explore the parts of myself that are still unfolding.
And I think that's been one of the biggest surprises of this season: motherhood didn't make me want less of myself. In some ways, it made me want more.
More creativity. More learning. More curiosity. More space to follow the things that light me up.
I want August to grow up knowing a mom who is deeply present and completely in love with her, but who also has passions of her own. A mom who shows her that it’s possible to be many things at once. Who keeps learning. Who makes room for the things that make her feel alive.
Motherhood has also brought me back to the work I've always wanted to do, especially when it comes to nutrition.
Pregnancy and postpartum have given me a completely different understanding of what it means to nourish yourself. Our bodies ask different things of us in different seasons. What fueling yourself looks like during pregnancy isn't necessarily what it looks like after birth. And what you need when you're breastfeeding, barely sleeping, healing, and caring for a newborn can look very different again.
I've lived that shift firsthand.
I've had to learn to nourish myself in ways that are practical, imperfect, and sometimes very different from what I imagined they would be. I've learned that taking care of yourself doesn't always look glamorous or fit neatly into a routine.
Sometimes it's a nourishing meal you've thoughtfully prepared.
Sometimes it's eating something quickly with one hand while holding your baby with the other.
And experiencing that shift for myself has made me want to understand more. To keep learning about the way our nutritional needs evolve throughout different seasons of life, and to help other women feel supported as they navigate their own.
That's part of what is changing in my work.
I'm continuing to grow my 1:1 nutrition coaching through Nourished, while also creating Nourished Motherhood, a prenatal and postpartum nutrition offering for women navigating these incredibly transformative seasons.
And I'm writing again.
I've missed having a place to put all of the thoughts that have been living in my head. The things I'm learning. The recipes I'm making. The questions I'm asking. The beautiful and messy parts of life and motherhood. The ways my understanding of nutrition, wellness, and taking care of ourselves continues to shift alongside my own life.
This next chapter of Recipe for Radiance feels less like a reinvention and more like an unfolding.
I know what feels meaningful to me right now, even if I don't know exactly where it will lead. I don't know which parts of my work will grow, which things I'll outgrow, or what motherhood will continue to teach me about who I am.
And for the first time, I don't feel like I need to know.
I'm letting motherhood change me. I'm letting my work change with me. I'm staying curious about the woman I'm becoming and giving myself permission to keep evolving along the way.
Maybe that's what this season is really teaching me: that I don't have to choose a version of myself and hold onto her forever.
I can be a mother and a creative. A partner and a professional. Someone who is deeply rooted in the life I've built and still curious about what comes next.
And if that changes again, I'm open to that too.
There is so much life in this new chapter, and I'm excited to share pieces of it with you.
With love,
Morgan
